I agree with the other two reviewers of this item. This product doesn't even deserve one star.

br /I purchased this sander for refinishing the wood windows in our family room. The Ryobi palm sander I already own worked great for the larger flat spots, but I was looking for something smaller to get into the tighter places. When I turned on this detail sander the vibration was felt more in my hand than on the end that held the sand paper. Needless to say it really didn't do anything over what I could have done with a sanding block in my hand. I haven't used it past the first 30 seconds I had it on and went back to the Ryobi palm sander and oven cleaner to take the remaining paint off. I will be returning this Detail sander back to the store!

I purchased one of these sanders from a home center as an "in a pinch" purchase, and found that all it really is is a piece of sandpaper on an electric stick. You could very literally attach a triangle of sandpaper to a tongue depressor and you'd get a more effective tool. It might work as a personal massager, but thats really the only use I could imagine this thing ever having.
br /If you need a detail sander, you'll be far better off buying a grossly overpriced fein multimaster than to waste the minimal amount of money this one costs. It only got the one star because the program wouldn't allow me to give it zero.

This product doesn't do anything. I use various sanders for various needs. I was trying to sand around some spindles on a staircase and thought this would be useful. It is not. When you turn it on it feels about like an electric tooth brush. Unfortunately it is not as powerful as an electric toothbrush.

br /I put on some 60 grit paper as I was trying to roughly remove some old polyurethane. Basically, the sandpaper stayed still and my hand vibrated.

br /Absolutely useless. I have since bought the bosch. It hasn;t arrived yet though so I cannot compare.

I bought this to refinish some trim around the house. Got it home and turned it on and realized that the handle was the only part that vibrated - not the sanding pad!! Talk about a piece of junk!!!!
Not worth the effort of even buying

I have spent LOTS of money on hand tools in my day, and I make gallery furniture on the weekends. This is the least useful tool I have ever spent money on- even though it was quite cheap. It was actually faster to sand by hand, then to use this tool

We bought this to clean up detail work on a paneled door that we were stripping. It did a great job of getting into the corners and the cleaning up the moulding. I did the job better than I expected and saved several hours of tedious hand sanding. I think other reviewers may have had excessively high expectations.
Wow, what a bad tool

I have tried to use this tool several times since I bought it. I think it will be donated to charity or thrown away very soon.

br /I have only used it for sanding in tight areas or small spots in moulding. The vibrations did not do anything for sanding. I still had to lean in on the tool to make it sand. Even then it barely smoothed out the wood.

This is a great tool. I can easily get into cornered areas and it works fantastic for finish work. The two things I can think of that it is a little difficult to switch on and off due to the dust protective covering on the switch. Make sure this is unplugged when you leave your work area. The other thing is the noise, it is a little bit loud, but for the price this was a great buy.

Terrible. No power. Sandpaper on a putty knife works better. Returning to the store ASAP. Waste of money. Try the Black Decker Mouse instead.
This thing sucks.

I got it for free, packaged with a saw. That's what is worth - nothing.
br /
br /The problem is that it just doesn't sand anything. The end with the sandpaper doesn't vibrate enough.
